Dont you think now that AMD was making a lot of profit on you when u see the 4800 x2 droping the price from 700$ to 300$. If Conroe E 6700 at 600$ is making money whit a cpu far more performing than a Fx-60 at 800$

Ppl just like computer and they will buy it at every price and Amd know it. For those who are loyal to AMD im not sure but maybe we dont realize how much profit AMD was making on every of us whit a single cpu.

What's wrong whit that? lol All your hard days of labour just to buy a cpu :)

But u can see that Intel are making less profit on us than AMD.
 
each one comes out with new cpus, intel is a larger company and makes less dependable cpus, but cheaper. Id rather go for realibility than price.

Yeah but he didnt ask a question he stated something, if he were to ask WHY AMD is higher priced economics would have been explained. I know there is an edit button, but I forgot about it, as you and everyone else does

We can say that Amd was making about 300 or 400$ ( back in the day ) for each cpu in profit compared to the E6700.

What's your realibility thing are you saying that AMD cpu are built harder.

Educate me Einstein and tell me why u like to pay 700$ when it drop to 300$ the week after.

i agree, the reasoning behind the slashing prices is so they can still make little profit and not be swallowed by intels conroe

My point is that im comparing the profit the 2 company are making on us and by the 2 event that is coming now (release of conroe and major drop price) it just seem to me that AMD price were really really high before the cut. And the coming conroe is like a blessing for cpu buyer.

So thx Intel u ppl arent stealing our money from our pocket just like Amd.
 
Actually, Intel operates at a 20 percent margin and AMD only operates at a 5-6% margin. If a price war was to start, Intel would come out on top, because it has the bigger margin. It has been established for longer, and it has more production capabilities.

By the way, who said Intel made less reliable processors? One is not less reliable than the other. Each have their "reliable" server line and also their normal processors.
 
how bout this, maybe amd charges more for their processers so that they can use that profit to make faster and more reliable processors in the future, were they not the first to come out with a dual core processor?

there is no such thing as making to much money...
i am not rich, i don't make tons of money... and i see these huge companies making HUGE profits.... but do i say "they are making to much" or "it isn't fair" "how come they get to make all that money..."*
instead i think it is great they can make such profits... i think it is great that they can sell their products probably like 10-20 times as much as it is manufactured for... GREAT FOR THEM!!! awsome... because some day when i go into business im not gona give a crap how much more im selling for... i will make millions probably out of sheer marketting... all u have to do is FOOL people into buying ur product... thats it... simple... to the people that have made millions out of doing that, out of taking advantege of the worlds stupidity... i salute u... because that is brilliant...

i will salute them instead of be the person that saysx: "nobodey should make that much profit" and that deep down wishes they made that much profit on something like that...




*if everyone was rich then no one would be...
you can't be rich without people being poor...
