Hey guys, I forgot how to do something....

My friend has an AMD dual core 3800 dual core and the salesman told him to do something to the computer so that the computer will always be power on or something like that?

And then I read somewhere here, I think it was OMEGA that posted it, to go to bios and click on save power or something like that?

Anyone knows?

2) How to prioritise a program? Is there anyways where you can open up a program and tell my memory to concentrate on that program? Ex. WHen I open up like 3d studio max I want most of my memory to concentrate on it..

Is that possible?

Thank you guys..

You can disable throttling throught the BIOS. Look for speed stepping or something (there are a few names for it) and disable it. Jsut make sure the default speed is what you want to run it at, it may revert to like 800MHz, depends on the BIOS/board.
You can also do this within windows but it's not guaranteed to work if your BIOS feature isn't disabled. Right-Click Desktop > Properties > Screen Saver Tab > Power > Power Schemes - Select "Always On".

To assign a program more priority on RAM you can do that with Task Manager. However it's not usually that effective, and sometimes will crash your program. Just a word of warning.
Open your Task Manager and go to the "Processes" tab. Select the process you want to have more priority and right-click it. Go to "Set Priority" and choose what level you want to run it at.
I wouldn't try "Realtime" as it crashes most programs. I never even mess with priority personally. The way Windows is set up, whichever program has your focus at the time automatically gets priority. I read that somewhere....seems to be true.

ram doesnt concentrate on anything. processor does. ram just stores certain needed files in it to maximize access to the files. if you dont have enough memory, i suggest you get more.
you can set priorities for the processor in task manager, i suggest you dont though because if it uses 100% processor and you set it to realtime then you may not be able to move the mouse until the processor is finished processing
