Hi,
I have a USB which has a copy of Windows XP on it (I just used it to install on a netbook; successful install) so I figure I will run it on one of my dad's work computers which he downloaded spyware "antivirus" software on and screwed it up.
Now, I try to do my normal install I did with the netbook and I get the blue screen when it says "Windows is starting..."...whereas it'd ask me normally to work with the partitions.
The blue screen talks about chdsk /f. Would that work? And is getting there just opening up DOS before the computer starts? Any suggestions? This seems like a relatively thing to fix. I just need the hard drive formatted and I can handle it from there, but getting it formatted seems to be the challenging part at the moment.
