Format Windows XP HDD

How do I totally format my Hard Drive? I have XP.
I want to completely format the HDD and re-install Windows XP Pro which I have on CD.

Any ideas as the CD does not seem to have a format option?

Good/detailed/clear instructions would be appreciated.

You can do that easily with the XP Disc. It does in fact have a format option in it. Here is microsoft's guide to help you:

It's actually very simple and once you get to the menu there, you should be able to figure it out.

You can also just right click the C drive and click format.

I don't think you can do that as it would wipe the app doing the format.

Just put in your WinXP Pro CD, boot up to it, and itll load some stuff and then itll go to a screen where you have options to delete partitions, or repair.. Just delete the partitions and make a new one with however much HDD space you want to use and itll install.
