formating hard drive 1 time a week

You would think after calling microsoft a couple times and coming up with excuses so many time that they would eventually stop giving away keys. Well thats were microsoft screws up and keeps handing out keys! It is to easy to get keys now days!

They don't give out keys but simply calculate the new number fro the hardware configuration number you provide. Eash 5 digit set represents a certain board, cpu, whatever combo of parts.

I've installed XP on my computer countless times sing the online activation. Starting off with a 350mHz Pentium 2, then a Socket A, then that died and I used a slower Socket A, then a laptop, and finally the computer i have now. And all but the latter I installed the same copy of XP on them several times, apart from the latter which has only had one installation a few days ago. Would it register on the system if the same key was activated over a certain number of times so that they could see if something suspicious was happening?

For XP both the retail and OEM releases allow for 3 machines. For Vista only one OEM disk per machine while the retail still allows for activating 3 machines in one household.

If you keep formatting your drive, it will slowly loose disk space. I've already reformatted my 120GB drive three times. It's down to 111 GB.

That's normally seen anyways once you convert the decimal unit of measurement seen on the retail box to the binary method used by Windows. A 250gb model will see some 232-234gb depending on partition type. That would be 234gb for Fat32 while roughly 232gb for NTFS.

Both of the 500gb internal sata drives here see 465gb as well as the 500gb external drive once they see a fresh primary created on them.

Lol what a waist of time, as he is probbably saving his files by putting them on a USB or something and then putting them back on when it's done, so if there are any viruses or anything binded to exes, hes just put them back on.

Lol

Tuffie.
