Formatting a WD Drive

OK, this is weird. I have 2 passport external hd's and I'm trying to format them. Unfortunately I cannot find the format selection when I highlight the drive in Explorer and right click on the mouse (running Win 10). how do I format them?

What options are available when right clicking the drive? You should also be able to do it in disk management.

Options are Collapse", "Install or run program from your media", Open Autoplay, Open in new window, Pin to quick access, Share with, Scan E:\, Pin to Start, Eject, Copy, Properties. These same choices are also in disk management.

I think Western Digital Passport drives have some security software on them that will prevent that happening. You may have to take the drives out of their caddies and use proprietary software to delete the partions and then combine those partitions and format it. I use the paid for Paragon Partition Manager to do that sort of stuff. There is a free version of that program that you can try.
