formatting hard drive for new os...

want to format a spare hard drive i used as back up to install windows 7

i got the download, so i neeed to burn download to disc to install in 2nd drive?

and how do i reformat for windows7, or when i run disc with wind7 it will do it automatically?

and i have the download of windows 7 on my vista hd. i need to burn to disc to install?

would a virtual machine be better to do than 2 os's and a dual boot manager(any suggestions on dual boot software?)

Hello,

Youi should be able to install windows 7 just like any other version of windows. I suggest running throught the install on vmware like I did, pretty much the same type of install. If you want to dual boot vista and windows 7 here is a nice guide:

how do you format hard drive? it happens after burning disc with new os and running new os install (windows 7?)

just boot up to the windows 7 install disk, during the installation it will ask you where do you want to install it, at that time you would choose the hard drive you wish to install it on, then click format, it will then format it for you and install the OS on it.
