Hi,
I have just bought a new Veloci Raptor for OS and apps. Can i format it in an external HD case, then install it in tower and install windows? Or is there an easier way? And, do I format in NTFS or FAT32?

Use NTFS. But why do you want to put it in a External, format then install it in the case? It would be eaiser just to go ahead and put it in the case?

OK. Why isn't it showing up on my computer. It shows as being there in device manager. Is that cause its in an external HD case.

Did Windows install the driver for it? Check under disk management, you would need to format it from there.

Right click on my computer and click on manage, then go to disk management, towards the bottom on the left.

Did Windows install the driver for it? What version of Windows is this?

No driver was installed & its XP Home SP3. Should the HD come with a driver CD?

Disk management says its not initialized...HUH.

Yes you can use Windows to format the drive. You have two choices, quick or full. Since this is a new drive, you should be okay with doing a quick format.
