Hey Guys I got a foxconn Motherboard (not sure the model ill grab it when i get home) that takes an Am3 and has 4 ddr3 ram slots. Now the system sheet for the board says it only can take up to 8 gigs of ram (which i currently have 4 2 gig sticks) but technically it has enough slots for 32 gigs. Anyone know if this is typically true or should i look for a firmware update? Dont have extra ram just curious not that 8 gigs isn't enough (its more than for me even with my gaming habits lol)

Just because it has enough slots doesn't mean it supports it. You need to check the manual to see how much it can handle.

8GB could very well be accurate. Just because it has 4 slots doesn't mean you can fill them with the largest modules available.

If you give us the model number of the motherboard then that will tell us how much memory it supports.
