FPS inconsistency.

so in most games that have demanding graphics like crysis or arma 2, I noticed that when looking straight down or up the FPS sky rockets. I have 2 XFX HD4850s and I was wondering is there any remedy to fix this.

Well, there isn't much complexity and scenery to the ground and the sky as there is the landscape and the moving enemies and physics.

Exactly. Your FPS will change dramatically depending on what the GPU is required to produce.

If it's just a plain sky or a simple pattern on the ground your FPS will increase quite a bit, there's really nothing you can do about it and it is normal operation.

You could try and enable vsync.
