Alright I've tried everything i can think of to try and fix this. I have an AMD XP+2500 processor with 512 DDR pc2700 ram and a Radeon 9800 pro and in natural Selection the mod for Half Life 1 my frames randomly go from 70 to 20 or below?!?! I cleaned out the fan since there was dust in it. Ive updated the drivers and all. Now when i had my radeon 9000 pro i was hitting 80 frames and staying there no spikes or anything. Can ANYONE please give me some suggestions on how to fix this!?!?!??!

it could be that you have things running in the backround unplug the internet and turn off your anti virus type msconfig into run and select start up end any process that has your name on it then try the game if it worked ok then it is due to the amount of processes that windows is running
do not end any processes you are not sure about type them into google first and decide after reading what google says they are

have you tried lower the settings a little? could be that you get into intesne firefight or w/e and just is too much for the GPU.

dang thanks for the advice guys :D Would this video lag also account towards my optical mouse just like freaking out. jumping around on screen and firing randomly.....?

i dont think so it sounds like a driver issue or something running in the background try what i posted earlier and then post back

I tried the processes thing. Worked like a charm Thanks alot all. I ran it at 70frames I'm bout to get mouse drivers now to get rid of all the problems. Thx alot guys!
