Fps

Specs:

i5-2500
Radeon HD 6870 (1GB)
4GB x 2 1333mhz DDR3 RAM
Samsung Spinpoint F3

According to multiple FPS meters, I'm getting only 30 fps in crysis 1 & 2, and Fallout 3 aswell. This is with maximum settings, 1080p and AA + AF enabled. The game play however is extremely smooth. No stuttering at all, smooth dynamic motion. I swear it has to be 60 FPS. I use Fraps and RadeonPro to record FPS and both show the same number. I get 60+ FPS (according to the software) with GTA SA max settings and 24X adaptive AA.

It seems that any tool to measure FPS I use is giving me low ball numbers. Even when the FPS supposedly dips near 20 its still ultra smooth. I even used the in game FPS counters via console command, same result. Anyone have a clue?

to be honest, if its smooth, why really bother?

although i do understand it can be frustrating.

i dont know though, never had this problem

But I hear of people getting way more FPS and I then I wonder if maybe something is wrong with my card or software. I don't know maybe I'm just obsessing too much.

That does sound a little bit low for that card, but not too far from the mark. Do you know of anyone personally that is getting way more FPS with the same settings and similar setup?

No not personally just from benchmarks on the web, i guess its fine though.

You wont necessarily notice a huge difference between 30 fps and 60 fps except when there's tearing or stuttering, that's just the human eye at work. As long as it's running smooth I wouldn't worry about it.

True I just want to make sure nothings affecting my performance. 60 to 30 fps isn't too big a deal but 30 to 15 or less is.
