Free Firewall?

im getting tired of all these virus infections so I want a firewall. Preferably a free downloadable one, but I'll take suggestions for ones I would have to buy.
Any ideas?

Firewalls don't block viruses... They usually come in via Email, or Web browsing. A Virus protections program WITH a firewall is what you are looking for...

What type of virus are you getting?
 
I seem to be attracting mostly trojans. I just got my computer back from the mechanic cuz I got a virus that would non-stop turn my computer on and off.
If im looking for a virus program with a firewall then which one should I go with?
 
You can get AVAST for free it is comprehensive and includes numerous effective measures for AV/spyware and has a firewall.

Once you register a code will be emailed to you, you right click on the icon in your tray, go to "about avast" click on liscense key and enter the code, and voila, free AV/Firewall/Anti-Spyware, it is an excellent program, as good if not better and it is free.

I had that problem and I had to download Ad-Adware SE persoanl and AVG ani-spyware
 
You can use AVG for AntiVirus, Comodo for firewall, Spyware Terminator, and CCleaner for cookies, history, and uninstalling. You can find them all here.
 
most routers have configurable firewalls built in, that wont hog up resources on your computer, or slow down your speeds
