FREE game from anything at EA

After the debarcle of what was the release of SimCity 5, the first major update from Sim City 4 which was 10 years ago. The Head of Maxis (developers i think), said that

And to get us back in your good graces, we’re going to offer you a free PC download game from the EA portfolio. On March 18, SimCity players who have activated their game will receive an email telling them how to redeem their free game.

Yup. They screwed up badly and they knew. Nice to see they at least have an ounce of honesty and going to give people a free game (which doesn't cost them much of anything to do). But still, it's something. Wonder if they have a price limit. If not then I bet BF3 is gonna get some hits.
 
I had a look there on origin and ea websites, there really isn't much in that collection i would want. i have bf3, mass effect etc, all the rest is 'casserol of nonsense'
 
EA are retarded, there's no other way to put it.

More detail on the 'always online' thing.
It actually only checks if you're online when you sign on, then once every 10 minutes. You can sign in then disconnect from the internet, and play for 10 minutes without a problem.

I would appreciate the gesture if I owned this game. What I'd appreciate more is a larger city size, the ability to play offline and local save games.

This, it is good that they acknowledged it and it is good that they did something about it. It stil does not make it in any way acceptable that a game by one of the most successful developers, published by one of the largest games publishers screwed up so massively on something so simple as having the servers work correctly though.

@Rest. Offline and local games, yes, larger city sizes, this is EA, expect to see them in DLC coming your way within the next couple of weeks ;)

Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)

i have played all of these games except medal of honor and dead space 3 so which game wold be better for pc?
 
You can get simcity 4? Well EA have doomed themselves, everyone will buy SC4 and realise how much of a better game it is than SimShitty
 
if you delete 2 lines of code you don't have to be online. To save just connect again.
I'm sure that there's an offline save workaround being created.

Also IIRC the CEO of EA has quit over this, and mass effect 3.
 
All this talk makes me want to play SimCity 4 which is still floating around in my Steam library untouched for about a year.
 
i grabbed dead space 3 since i have already played and beat dead space 1 and just picked up dead space 2. yea i know its more action n less horror but it seems to be a better game than moh warfighter which will no longer see support
