Free software for password protect USB drives?

HI anyone know any free software that password protect USB flash drive like U3 Launchpad does? I am looking for something that work with diskgo by edge 16gb and inferior Sandisk 16gb usb flash drive.
I bought 2 sandisk 16gb USB flash drive with intention to use U3 launchpad to secure my data in the drive. only to find out sandisk no longer make usb flash drive that support U3 lauchpad. I am very disappointed.
Please help if you know any freeware that I can use for protecting these drives.

the Backup/Recovery/Encryption has some programs that can encrypt HDD's and external media

Thank you, just downladed 2 of them, will try them tomorrow, hope one of them will work like u3 lauchpad.

sorry guys, none of them work the way like U3 launchpad. I want a program that stay on the usb stick, when I plug the stick to a computer it launch and ask for the password then login.
