When you get a free trial on a piece of software, when you try to reinstall it (obviously) it tells you that you already used the trial... How does it know that? My guess was the registry key, and if it was, couldn't you just (hypothetically) delete the registry key and install it again?

yea sure, but you gotta find the piece it left behind. its usally a reg key but it could be something else.

Yeah, I think it's the registry key(s) that it leaves behind.

My thoughts would be that you could use a registry cleaner to remove it, and then try re-installing that software (although I don't think it'll work).
