Free Virus Scanners

My computer is bust, does anyone know any good virus cleaners, which are free and actually delete the viruses.... I have downloaded some off the internet and after the scan they just say to delete these viruses you have to purchase the product, which annoys me cause it shows me i have loads of viruses which i can't clean...

You cant install any anti-virus program in safe mode, you need to boot into normal Windows to install it.

Then i would suggest that you backup your files and reformat. And how exactly is your computer messed up?
 
Don't know, when i turn on my computer it crashes at the black screen with the loading bar, then i have to turn it off then on, and put it into safemode this happens every time(and system restore doesnt work) i also don't have the XP CD to reformat:( .... Any ideas?
 
AVG Anti-Virus - virus

Adaware SE or Spybot - spyware/malware

Try running a hijack this log and post it up.

the black screen with the loading bar? would that be the windows xp screen? Anyways, I would reconmend you buy a copy of windows xp and reformat your computer.

haa! i had that roblem for so long!
one thing that someone did was change the CPU fan....that was one problem....
Maybe you can check that....
 
I'm not an expert, but that log looks fine. Maybe one or two unnecessary programs but still shouldn't cause any harm.

Maybe doubly check with one of the more technical-minded experts on here just to make sure
