I'm looking for a site that gives free web hosting and a domain name.
Right now, I am using geocities, but I hate having to type such a long URL.
I'm looking for something with few ads, lots of storage, and a short domain name (such as ___.tk). I do not need a WYSIWYG, just something an HTML editing box.
I know this is asking too much for something free, but does anyone know such a site? If not, what is the best site to fit my needs?
 
I've never seen anything that gives you a free domain name, but you can come pretty close with a redirectional. My favourite is www.freedomain.co.nr. Your site becomes www.yoursite.co.nr, which is about as close as you'll get for free. All you need to do is place a small logo linking back to their site on your homepage.

As for free webhosting, there are a number of alternatives. http://www.free-webhosts.com/ provides a database you can search through to find one that meets your needs.

I've managed to find some hosts that are better than hosts you pay monthly for. Unfortionatly, most free hosts that offer good features either want you to pay a one time fee or be an "active" member of the site's forum.
 
I have been using forumer for the last year and they are top class, they host IPB and PHPBB for free, they have a great support forum very help full.

All you need to do is pick what you want IPB or PHPBB click join and then its setup :)

But they dont give out free domains like yourname.com it will be somthing like yourname.forumer.com

wow, freewebtown is good! when i get time ill switch from 50webs to freewebtown. but ill still use my co.nr, it is really helpful!
