Free windows yet?

Has the older windows like 95 or 98 legally become free yet? Either for download or copying?

98 makes workgroup very easy though not secure and easily bypass login and get on the computer.

you want them for free you can get them at your school if they are provided.

I contacted Microsoft direct and they said there is NO Windows that is free, if so the version won’t work with current software e.g. windows 3.1 lol

i think Ms should give at least windows 95 away for free now i mean its that old and nobodys realy gonna buy it anymore

and windows Me is total rubbish anyway so they could give that away

I had heard a few years ago that Windows 98 was released to the public domain and could now be downloaded and installed for free, but apparently that is not true.

Not only is it not free, but M$ will not even permit licenses to be sold for those for system builders. The only way you're going to get a copy of an OS that old is used or closeout. The good news? 98SE sells for as low as $35:
