Freeing up space in my C drive

For some reason my C drive which when partitioned was made much smaller than the D and E drive is now almost full up and I after unwrapping a rar file I can't install some software. Does software always have to be installed in the C drive or can it be moved to another drive?

Also to get more room in the C drive, what do I do? Can I drag and drop some files into the D drive? How do i find where the big files are in the C drive?

I know you can change the partition or delete the extended or logical drives with windows 7 pro or ultimate. Its built into it. If your using something like XP your better off using something like partition magic. It was always obvious and a no brainer. its simple to use but not free.

On the other hand you better not start moving files around. Likely not in your best interest and that will be another mess. You can not just drag a program from program files into another directory if it was a install from windows. You could uninstall and reinstall on the other drive say D: or E:. The partition magic might work for say 30 days and let you get away with it. Ive had for years. Windows 7 though always had the features built into it. Im using the pro ver.

Your best bet now would be transfer all the data to a bigger drive and repartition that drive only into 2 partitions. What size drive is it? Look in disk management or open the case and look at the drive.
