Hello everyone I just found out about you forum not too long ago but any ways I’m pretty good with computers with troubleshooting and what not but I’m just learning the networking side of things, I was able to setup my three computers to share folders with each other and the printer. one is hardwired to the router and the other two are wireless. But any way how I want to setup a NAS to my network so the software I’m using is free NAS for the sever I get it setup running, but I can’t get vista to see it. And the funny thing is I’m testing windows 7 on my laptop and is working fine. Now I need to get it working with vista can anyone help me? Thank you.

Hi, I've the same prtoblem. Just tried to install FreeNAS on a spare machine & can't get Vista (on Laptop) to access it. It appears in the Network, but only the Printers folder is visible & I can't do aything else with it!

How did you solve your issues?

Cheers, Nez

All the supposed Linux fanboys here and they can't give an obvious answer.

Did you guys install with the Samba(CIFS/SMB) service activated? This is so Windows machines can read an ext3 Linux file system.
