Hello all, I wonder if anyone could give me some advice please.
System:
Asus Sabertooth P67 Pro
Intel i5 2500K
Corsair 8GB Vengeance Ram
Powercolor ATI HD 6870
Samsung Spinpoint 1TB HDD
OCZ 700W PSU with 80%+ Bronze certified
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits
Problem:
Whenever I try to play games or watches video. First 15-20 mins runs fine, then it freezes up, there is still picture on screen, but it just froze up and sometimes the background sound starts to lag whilst the picture/graphics is frozen. It occurs roughly 30-60 seconds, also mouse cursor is frozen too. After the wait everything goes back to normal or I have to CRTL+ALT+DEL if i wait too long.
What I've tried:
Checked the latest drivers for my graphics card and everything else.
I ran a benchmark test via Dirt 3, the temperature shoots up to almost 80c and when underload it stays around 75c +
Does this suggests the CPU is too hot that causes the freezing in games and videos?
PS. I am currently using the stock CPU cooler as I ran out of money to upgrade.
Thank you for reading and any advice is appreciated.
Frankie
