Freezing in Starcraft 2

So a few of you might remember my cold start issues. I got my motherboard back and haven't had any cold start issues since. I had 1 blue screen randomly, but it was not on startup, and no random errors or issues. With the exception of a couple audio and video problems, the only issue I have run into is a couple freezes in Starcraft 2. After playing for a while, the game simply froze, accompanied by a generic annoying sound coming my speakers. I think the whole computer froze, because I was unable to alt tab out. Upon restarting my computer, both times I have opened amd overdrive to see temperatures that are fine, and actually are running cooler since the motherboard switch. Any ideas.
 
I have now had my computer freeze 3 times, all in Starcraft 2, I plan on running memtest 86+ over night tonight either way, but I remember through the whole discussion, I had my ram set up at 1.5 v, which I wrongly assumed was correct from people telling me, I went on the side and it said 1.5/1.6*

so I checked the sticks, it says 1.6 v. Could this cause a problem as I described. upon saving bios, Windows failed to start, then tried that repair thing, it blue screened, so I restarted and clicked start Windows normally, and it started up. I am hoping that changing the settings to 1.6 caused the windows failed startup and blue screen, and that this voltage change will fix my issues, but I am thinking in the end my ram might be bad, just thought I would ask for your input while I have the time.
 
What are your full system specs? Although right now i can tell you you'll need to manually set the speed, voltage and timings of your RAM because those freezing issues are RAM related.
 
yeah the system is pretty newly build, standard 6-800 dollar setup:

phenom x4
550 W psu
4 gigs ram
hd 5770
gigabyte mobo
23 inch 1080 tv as monitor

I have been running it smooth on ultra, just dropped it to high, but my card seemed to have no problem running it on ultra on fine temperatures

I have the manual settings set at 1600, 9-9-9-28, and 1.6 v, all as specified on the ram, I did not change anything else in the settings, just hit manual and changed those (although as of an hour ago I had it on 1.5v and had no had problems other than these Starcraft 2 freezes and 1 BSOD).
 
3 memtest86+ passes at auto dram voltage with no errors. That was the most unhelpful result I was looking for.
 
afterward, I started up my computer, and opened hulu to watch always sunny, frozen before the beginning commercial even ended. No Starcraft 2 involved.
 
With those RAM settings you'll need 1.65v, try to use the next small increment up after that, to help with stability.
 
ouch, followed by a startup, with a white screen with black and slight colored vertical lines, which to me has video card written all over it, but then it starts fine, with the exception of it saying windows failed to start, I select start windows normally, and it starts normal, then I start hulu, start to play it again, thinking maybe i would fail on video, and it BSODs this time.
 
followed by a restart, I checked temps, and started hulu, this time, shortly in, it just restarted my computer, said nothing.

and if it's video card, then why the loss of sound at freeze, why the bsod, and why the restart with no freeze?

Video freezes can easily cause that. do you have integrated video you could try? or another GPU?

Also what brand 5770? sounds like you need an RMA

no, not at all. I am assuming you have the same memory as me (2x2GB 1600MHz Corsair XMS3 CAS9), if that is the case then at stock settings, which is same frequency but lower clocks than OP has theirs at, so in theory demands more power, it is stable at 1.6V. The fact memtest passed is clarification that the memory voltages aren't at fault.

What are the FULL system specs, so brand/model/numbers.

there are several Phenom II x4 CPUs, there are countles 550W power supplies, there are hundreds of gigabyte motherboards...you get the idea.

Who is the manufacturer of your hard drive, what OS are you running?

edit: Also, last night it failed those 2 times I tried to stream Always Sunny from Hulu, then I went to watch a replay in SC2 to test it, and clicked all around, and no fail...

and I'm running dvi from my card to monitor, so why would my sound bug out if my gpu failed?

update, I played a tv show in windows media player full screen for ten minutes with no issues, went online, put on hulu small screen for 5 minutes, no problem, went full screen and after about 2 or 3 seconds, the computer froze and restarted.
 
I am running firefox and Catalyst 10.7, and keep in mind the random Starcraft 2 freezes. I also played a 1080p video on youtube with seemingly no problems on full screen, but then I went back to hulu and shortly have full screen, crash, blue screen errors are as follows:

I think the blue screen actually might have frozen, although I have it set to not auto restart, but it says Dumping physical memory to disk: 45

I figured if it didn't freeze it would go to 100
 
I had done some basic test from that or something when I first had problems before, when I had the cold startup issues and before I RMA'd my motherboard, but I will go in and run the program completely this time and let you know what I find, thank you.

edit: I updated my bios from F2 to F3d and have been running well for a little bit now, could that have been the problem?

hard drive tests went great, I did every one in SeaTools except the advanced ones at the bottom that say they could erase memory. I updated the bios and the computer has been running great ever since, so hopefully that was it, if it acts up I'll update, and thanks for the help everyone.
