Hi i have a windows XP pro computer, SP2, AMD duron(tm) Processor and i have aproblem with it. Every now and then my computer freezes and i have to restart, and after a restart freezes again, again and again...

I tried opening the CD case and cleanin it, and i found a fan full of dust, fan cleaned but problem still here. Opened it again and claned, same problem even tho i dont run that much of programs at the same time.

I get some times an error with full screen blue page saying something like this " Windows has halted. contact your computer manufacturar if this problems appears gain" and i dont know why this one appears, can any one please help me, ask me for more information if you need to fix my problem

Best Regards

the problem is with the hard think I think there are bad sectors in the disk, and there might be problems with ur registry,
when the computer boots, go to start then run then type
shutdown -a
this will abort the shutdown, then try to fix the registry.
check ur disk, by chkdsk -f (from the run, this will ask u to restart the pc)
hope that this will fix ur pc

Maybe, but that's not the most likely reason because bad sectors generally cause one application to run sluggish or fail. Agreed, if the bad sector(s) is in the system area more applications are affected but you will see an error dialog because the OS knows it can't read the disk.

As there are blue screens too a device driver is failing, but this can be for all sorts of reasons.

What's important in this instance is "and i found a fan full of dust".
So, in what state is the CPU cooling fan and cooling fins ? ;)

sorry i lost this forum and i wasnt able to check what u guys said :P
any way
i check my reg but nothing wrong with it
but "in what state is the CPU cooling fan and cooling fins" is an interesting point... ill try to ask some computer guy about this,
thank you so much ;)

all BishBosh is saying is that your CPU may be overheating... start your computer and put a tepm reader in the cpu when running for about 10 minutes.... should run about 35C to 45C nothing hotter then that
