Okay, I plan on following Bodaggit's "Slow Windows?" tut when I get home and back at my computer.
Other than removing unwanted processes and services, is there anything else I can do to optimize my speed performance on my Dimension 2350?
2.19 GHZ Intel Celeron Processor (I thought it was 2.9GHZ... lulz lulz lulz)
1024MB Memory
80 GB HDD Western Digital
64MB Integrated Graphics (Upgrading to: EVGA 512-P1-N402-LR GeForce 6200 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI 2.1 Video Card in a few days when it gets here)
Audio - Integrated
CD-RW+ Drive
DVD-ROM Drive
Microsoft Lifecam VX-700
-------------------------------------
All drivers have been updated to latest versions and the following is installed other than just Windows XP:
Driver Genius 9.0
WinRar 9.x (Most Recent Version)
Mozilla Firefox 3.x (Most Recent Version)
MalwareBytes (Most Recent Free Version)
World of Warcraft 3.2.0 (Don't hate
)
I plan on installing ESET Smart Security 4 for firewall/AV/Spyware package, but I realize that there may be less resource intensive options available so I'm open to recommendations.
--------
Thanks for the help. Please list ANY ways to help me keep my computer light, clean, and as fast as I can possibly push it!
