Hi everybody, it's my first post here.
I have a big problem with my laptop, a Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO M1451G with 1GB RAM. Yesterday the power supply fell down from a table while I was using the computer, which suddenly turned off. Since then, everytime I turn my computer on, it displays the boot screen (NOT the Windows XP start screen), but stops there, and I cannot access the BIOS menus by hitting F2 or F12.
So I'm trying to understand if I can do anything before calling assistence (even because my guarantee has already expired, and I would have more convenience in buying a new one rather than having it fixed by a technician).
The hard-disk is still functional, since after the crash I could backup all the data connecting it to a desktop PC, as well as (I think) the graphic card, since the (static) boot-screen is correctly displayed.
What I wonder is to know if there is a way to understand what was damaged (CPU? RAM? BIOS chip? In the last case I could easily substitute it)...Also, is there a way to remove/change the RAM of this computer? When I opened the laptop, I couldn't find the RAM slot, I think it is under the keyboard, but I don't know how to remove it.
Thanks for any suggestions.
