Friend just got a new card and says he's having problems. Can anyone help?

Ok my friend just got an evga 8800GTS and now he says that when he tries to play 2 games and search the net, the computer freezes for a second and then resumes. I keep telling him that it's his single core processor that's bottlenecking on him and that he should get a new dual core processor. He swears it's the new card. Please post on here so he can see that it's not the card but something else! Thanks!

What processor does he have? I doubt it's the processor bottlenecking him, as surfing the net doesn't really require much power. Ask him if he installed the newest nvidia drivers?

He has the same one in my sig actually. AMD 3400 939. He only installed the drivers from the cd and he has XP Pro. The newest ones I found were for Vista but I'll ask right now and post back. Thanks for the reply!

I very much doubt that its your CPU. It should not freeze when performing such an easy task as surfing the net.
