One of my mates gave me a call the other day and asked me to see if i would go and have a look at his computer. I went round and booted it up, but halfway through Windows loading he gets a BSOD that says:
Something about NTFS.SYS and "STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0xF9E6980C, 0xF9E69508, 0xF97AA6185)
Then i tried to boot in Safe Mode, but i got the same message. So i tried booting from his Windows XP disk, to try and run Chkdsk. But as soon as it loaded all the files, my best mate appeared again!!!
All i can find from Microsoft is that i should run Chkdsk, but obviously that don't work.
Then i nicked his old 4gb Hard Drive
o), took his broken one out and installed XP on that. Everythings fine.
But as soon as i even put it in slave, the computer crashes at the XP loading screen again.
I'm now completely out of idea's and open to any suggestions.
