Nash

could be caused by dump files, computer starts normally as soon as the desktop appears the pc reboots, excessive dump files , just happend to a friend you could reinstall windows but if it is the dump files you will need your windows disk.............

Could be many things

good be a virus or spywear. try running avast and/or norton on the computer. if that dosent work, it is something to do with the power source, thats guess anyways.

There was (is?) a virus that did this a few months back. There was a patch available through Microsoft’s website… the only problem was that you had to have a really really fast computer to be able to boot up, go to their website, find the patch, download the patch, and install it, otherwise if you weren’t quick enough the virus would reboot the computer.

Look up KB823980 and KB835732

Not really, you can always run "shutdown -a" or even disable the service ;)

Ya lots of things.
1. virii
2. user hitting case/power/cable
3. bad PSU
4. temperature
Are just a few of the common ones

Does it restart when in windows or just when it's booting? If it's doing it in windows then it might be just what everyone else has said. If it's been doing it when windows is first restarting then it might be because of a bad MBR.
