My friend's building a PC, here are the specs i thought up for him, budget is around £480, and this needs to include everything apart from OS

It will mainly be used for web design and development, running Macromedia stuff etc. and probly some multi tasking, and light gaming, so no great graphics card is required, all the games he uses cna be played sufficiently on laptop with integrated graphics, so i thought Pentium would be best, but i aint to saure about the specs of pentiums, so here is what i thought up, please leave ur comments!!!

All prices without VAT

Maxtor Diamondmax 10 160 gig HArd drive - £41
Crucial 1 gig DDR ram - £41
Casecom ATX Case with psu - £16
LG internal DVD-rw - £24
Intel Pentium 4 506 2.66ghz socket 735 (is this any good, and the bestr socket etc.) - £66
PNY Geforce 6500 256MB DDR2 PCI-E (also is this any good, was cheapest i could find for the budget) - 33
ECS Socket 775 mobo with DDR2 ram, is it backward compatible? - £35
Acer 17 inch monitor, like mine :D - £119
Logitec cordless desktop - £16
Belkin wifi adaptor - £14.14

The VAT, god dammed UK governemnt - £72.08
Shipping - £7

Subtotal - £483

Please leave feedback, intels confuse me, i don't really know whats good and whats not, and teh cheapest socket 939 is £50 over budget

thanks, Lee :D

lol socket 735? dont think there's a such thing. the 6500 is'nt a good card. it might play some newer games on LOWEST settings... but barely.

I would pick a more respectable mobo than anything ECS.
