Friends upgrade

My friends computer is pretty slow and has trouble watching youtube videos etc. he has a Pentium/ Pentinum 4 2.8ghz (confused which one) and 440 mbs of ram. So will his Mobo support core 2 duos or pentium e5300s and stuf like that or do i have to find his MoBo model? also if i put 2gbs of 800mhz ram in there will his MoBo support it? If it only supports 667mhz will it automatically downclock the ram?

That doesn't help. We need to know the exact brand and model motherboard to determine exactly which processors it supports.

Download and run CPU-Z and it should tell you.
