Front Panel 5 pin USB?

Its Sage

So I got my case, I started building my PC, and then i come across a 4 (i know i said 5 in the title, mistyped. Sorry!) pin cable coming from the front panel labeled:

VCC
USB1-
USB1+
GND

and I'm not sure where it goes. I expected it to be a 9 pin to go into the USB slot on the mobo, but it's only 4.

I hope this makes sense to you, I don't know any other way to explain it. Also, I'm not too "tech savvy" so keep the complicated talk to a minimum please?

Thanks so much!

Look in the motherboard manual and it will tell you what pins are the usb and what they are labeled. Most usb connections are 9 pin but i've seen some connections that a have a 5 pin and a 4 pin.

The VVC is hot/power. The USB1+/1- are data and the GND is ground.

The motherboard has a connection like in the photo above. With the connectors from the case you just use one side, side A or B, pins 1 to 7 or 2 to 8 makes no difference.

What motherboard do you have? The 4 pin connection goes on side A that only has 4 pins. You should also have a 5 pin connection for usb as well and that would go on the other side.

I have a "Gigabyte 970A-D3" motherboard. I have one wire, a 4 pin, which I only put on one side, correct? I don't need anything on the other?

At the bottom of the board there are three USB ports. Two blue and one white and red. Can use any of them, but might as well use the F_USB1, the white and red one.

How should I connect it? Just connect with side A or B (using the above picture as reference.)
