Front panel USB cables

I am trying to connect the front panel USB cables to the motherboard adapter. I think I have it right, but I'm not sure. In the manual, it says the adapter pins are 5V, P-, P+, GND but on the cable the labels are PWR, D3-. D3+, D2-, D2+, and GND. What I did it put the PWR into the 5V, the D3- and D2- into one of the P- and D2+ and D3+ into the P+, GND went to GND. Is this right? What is D3+, D2-, etc? Thanks.

Edit: There is also a cable coming from the DVD drive that is supposed to plug into the motherboard somewhere, don't really know where that is supposed to go either.

The mobo is an ASUS P5G41C-M.

As far as the usb cable goes, is it just one big connector with all pins labeled or all separate small cables? Usually the usb cable is one big connector and can only be connected one way.

As far as the cable coming from the cdrom, it's really not needed nowadays.

Thanks for the reply, I figured out the DVD/CD drive cable and plugged it in. The USB cables are all separate, I plugged them in though as best I could hopefully it will work.

I don't know why the separate GND cable is there, because every 4pin USB consists one GND. The 4 pins are normally, GND(Black), USB_P+(green),USB_P-(white), USB+5V(red). In the 10th picture in your specified website (newegg.com), you can find the USB 2.0 connectors in the top-right corner in Yellow (NEAR SATA connectors). The 9th pin (single one) is diagonaly opposite to 1st pin. Connect the 4pin USB cables in such manner that the GND falls towards 9th pin and then USB_P+, USB_P- & USB+5V.
Both the 4pin connectors can be connected to one 9pin USB port in M'bd(F_USB1, F_USB2 or F_USB3 of your M'bd). Thus you can have 6 Front side USB ports.
