My goal: to get my new hard drive back to its original state - blank and with all 320GB recognized! :good:
Situation: I purchased a new Western Digital laptop hard drive with a capacity of 320GB which I'd like to swap out with my existing 50+GB hard drive in my Dell Inspiron E1505. Using the free trial of Acronis Migrate Easy 7.0, I cloned the old to the new, with the understanding that a partition could simply be extended to make use of the rest of the 320GB. Not so! The rest of the 320GB has disappered. I am looking for a last resort, as every suggestion I have received has not worked. I have tried Diskpart, Disk Management, ****** Partition Master (free version), reformatting, reinitializing, writing zeroes, etc. My hard drive currently remains blank, with 50+GB of unallocated space and the rest of the 320GB has not appeared since the cloning. At the moment, I am not concerned with putting anything ONTO the hd, only to get it back to its original blank state with the full capacity of 320GB recognized. Thank you for any assistance you could provide!
