Hey guys,

Im looking to get some decent security software package....i want the whole thing,Antivirus,Antispyware, firewall etc.

I was looking into loads of diffrent ones such as

Kaspersky Internet suite 2010
Eset Smart security
AVG Security suite

I dont mind paing for it ,alot of people say its not worth buying security software? But recently ive been getting alot of infections,I think its due to my mother or my sis keep clicking and downloading random crap and not knowing whats realy in the downloaded files.

I can get a 1pc 2 yr subscription to AVG Suite for £9

What you guys recommend?

im using Kapersky internet security. have it for 3 computers. i also have the option to give the key to anybody i want. can even take the key back and install on another computer.

It's going to be everyones personal opinion Shane but you should be able to glean enough out of it.

I ran Mcafee suite for one year, never again. The resources were heavy and it was slow, also the protection was not as good as it should have been. I had a few infections get through.

For the second year I am running AVG suite and the resources are quite low but not the best, never had an infection (that I know of), updates daily and scans quite fast.

When the AVG licence runs out in June I'm thinking of trying the free Microsoft Essentials suite, heard good things about it but if I change over it will be purely down to it being free.

1) Install Unix

2) Use openDNS

3) Secure your network at the router level

4) Last, secure your computer locally

Can't really recommend anything other than the methodology used to secure computers as I don't use any of that stuff except for AVG and Malwarebytes
