fx 55 or x2

hmm should i get fx 55 or x2? x2 will probably be better for future use since the dual core will be utilized by all applications soon. opinions?
 
since you want the Fx-55 then i assume you will be gaming. So you shuld still get the X2 it is futureproof. Right now they dominate in multitasking but i would say that games with be able to utilize dual cores soon enough so its a good investment. Look around here there are tons of X2 processors.
 
fx 60!!!! or x2...
cuz fx-55 has a single core,
compared to x2 series or fx 60 that have dual cores

for future stuff, you need dual core
 
yea get dual core, actually quake 4 uses more than 50% of my cpu resources most of the time anyways so yea, a regular single core would probably bottleneck unless it's really fast.
basically you need a high frequency, enough cache, and enough processor resources (which dual core ultimately doubles). oh, and the fx-55 is still overpriced.
 
Choise should be between fx-57 or x2 unless you know a cheap place to get a fx-55. At newegg the fx-55 and fx-57 cost the exact same amount.

Either way my vote still go to the X2 over the fx-57.
