G.skill 2gb Ddr2 Pc 6400 Ram

I bought this and it will be delivered tomorrow:

My question is, will I be able to set the timings to 4-4-4-12 without frying it (would upping the Volts help?), and will it have any noticeable performance gain over the default 5-5-5-15?

And I won't be gaming much. Just alot of multitasking and other non-gaming projects.

the default settings are fine for me and im gaming so i don't see how it could benefit you any more by changing the timings.

If you raise the voltage to say, 2.0-2.2v, then it's very possible you can. but if you have it at 1.8-1.9v, I highly doubt you could.

Actually, many people seemed to have problems with the RAM until they upped it to 2.0v. So hopefully it'll work.
