I just pop the keys out. Take a teaspoon or something that can get under and they will pop off. You want wreak the backlight as you don't touch that. I've popped them off and backlight still works fine.

Yep, best way to do it is to get either some mild soap and water(eg- dishsoap), or a 3:1 mix of 70% isopropyl alcohol and water, throw all the keys in a bowl and let them soak, then wipe them down with a cloth. Then you can vacuum/brush out the actual keyboard, and use isopropyl alcohol to clean anything that doesn't vacuum off.
