Everything is working great except my on board sound.

Already install so many different sound drivers and it still wouldn't work.

So what would be the problem?

Went to bios and the on board sound is enable but still not detecting for some reason.

pos ecs mb shoulda went with asus.

what is your OS? if it is XP try updating to service pack 3. if you dont wanna get sp3, get microsoft UAA drivers. if its vista, then its probably broke

Seems to be installed. What's the PCI device?

You seem to have all the sound drivers installed... should work fine, unless it's DOA.

what is doa?
it can't be the mother board because it can't find the device meaning i need the right sound driver.

It states there is a problem with your device. That could mean anything from Driver problems, to DOA problems.

DOA = Dead On Arrival

No.

Oh and yes you should have went with ASUS. ECS is a very low quality maker.

G31T-M Sound Drivers

There seems to be a common problem with the Intel driver either not identifying the ICH7 audio on the G31T-M or not allocating resources correctly. If you try it in a modern Linux operating system and it works correctly, then the solution is probably to grab the driver from SoftPedia. A Google search for "G31T-M Audio Driver" results in a number of driver download pages. This link seems to have the right driver:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/OTHER-SOUNDCARDS/ECS-G31T-M-V10-Audio-Driver-192.shtml

I'm going to try it now and post my results. I'm likely to never use Windows anyway, so I'm likely to give up fast if I have any more trouble with Windows drivers.

Hope this helps.
