Galaxy Phone Compass.

My Galaxy s10e phone has a built in side panel app that is a compass. However in recent months it has become embarrassingly inaccurate. Sometimes completely flipped backwards. It asks me to calibrate by moving phone in a figure 8 motion but never responds to me doing it. Is there a way to reinstall the app because it's just not working right?

Unfortunately there are no more updates for the S10E but you can try the following. Only other option probably would be to try resetting the phone back to factory.

  1. 1. Recalibrate the Compass:
    • Open the Google Maps app.

    • Move your phone in a figure-8 motion a few times until the compass is accurate.

    • Alternatively, on your S10e, go to Settings > Display > Edge panels and make sure the Tools panel is enabled. You can then access the compass from your edge screen and calibrate it by following the on-screen instructions.

The on screen instructions don't help. It doesn't respond at all to me moving my phone around. I just have to hit cancel.
