Game companies are dumb!

Games that run on an average system aren't what we crave; we want graphics that throttle the limits of your gfx, cpu intensive action, and something that will make us itch for an upgrade.

Not me.

I don't want mind blowing graphics I want GAMEPLAY which 90% of game companies don't bother doing anymore.
The less they force you to upgrade to play the games the more cash they will make from you buying them.

Sadly the sheep have destroyed gaming in general. The true gamers are out numbered by them.

I know a lot of people who pirate all their games because they spent all their cash on a rig just to max them out and are left broke.

I myself borrow games and only buy Valve/Other companies that are not EA and have gameplay in their titles.

Haha I laughed at that. I have never pirated a game in my life, and probably never will. But I think EA is probably going to pull up their socks soon from how much money they have lost due to the depression. Plus, I think EA is buying another good company (can't remember the name) so hopefully they don't destroy that company, or else I'll probably stop buying from EA all together.

I borrow about 90% of the games from friends anymore...I guess that could be piracy to some lol.

Though I was fooled into Far Cry 2....lucky for me I sold it for $45 on Ebay before everyone caught on to how bad SP was.

EA kills ANY company they swallow. Its a sad fact. I am so glad Valve said no and RS. I think they are trying to buy Activison now not sure though.

On the plus side they lost 400 million last year. We keep this up they will be gone for good and good companies can flourish again.

remember this people recommended you upgrade or buy a new computer every 6 months every game that comes out has different requirements, keep that in mind either upgrade or buy a new one.

@ the starter of this thread. If you don't want to be putting time and money into your gaming machine, then purchase one of the two leading console's that are of satisfactory specifications to 90% of the gaming community.

PC gamers are GENERALLY a dedicated bunch of people who love their games machines, and invest time, money and enthusiasm into their machines to get the most out of the latest games and software. Im sure im not alone in saying i would be infuriated if developers began REDUCING system performance on the PC to match that of the Xbox 360 or the Playstation3. PC gaming is an elite, and having the latest hardware is almost a must to get the most out of what the developers have.... developed :)

The comments slagging EA off i just don't understand. In conjunction with other companies EA have managed to come out with (in my opinion) some of the greatest games of all time! True say they are a little slack when it comes to service and patching ;) but never the less, they're production quality is second to none.

Edit:

Hdk20 - I probably upgrade once every year, and can run every game i want to play on maximum settings. (admittedly im due an upgrade :))

Then you are very easily pleased and that is good. I wont go into it but the law suits against EA and the massive complaints in their forums SHOULD tip you off as to way we hate EA.

+1 me and a friend used to look through game magazines and assign who would buy what, then we would play them, beat them, and switch :)

Always a good idea....for what they charge anymore for parts + games gotta save when you can.
I normally buy it when I can get for 20 bucks or so. But I got lucky and met a group of friends that get free copies from work.

So I can borrow just about every game made. I just choose to buy Valve's games ^-^

Playing Drakensang right now great game. Its like Never Winter Nights.

But just because companies have huge complaint lists, doesnt make the company bad altogether. What your asking for is perfection!

I would much rather EA continued to develop games, even if they come with 1001 errors and bugs, than stop making games altogether. Im a huge BF2 fan, and always will be, and if you know BF2, you'll know that its hardly got a clean sheet when it comes to service, patching and bugs - but that doesnt stop it being the 6th most played game on the web. (source:xfire)

Look at the Sims for example, one of the best selling PC games of all time, they're doing something right!

Im not suggesting your wrong, just opening a challenge for the sake of conversation thats all :)

I liked Crysis quite a lot to be honest... Loved Battlefield 1942 and hellgate londen too.
its not all rubbish they make really. I think there are more crap games around not made by EA than there are made by EA. but just because they are advertised better, you notice them more.
worst game so far (imo) is still Turning Point.. or Devastation. both were SO bloody awefull, finnished neither of them.

I dont think game developers are wrong here btw.. I've had my pc for almost 2 years now, and it still runs games pretty good. (it was high end back tehn, now I suppose its mid-range. Laptops jsut are genuinely crap when it comes to games. (dont get me wrong, laptops are great things, but the (usually) onboard grafic's card just cant run games well. (the processor and RAM is usually fine. )

^ Right... Ok, so get this, Unreal Tournament III is like at least 1 year old... Right? Well, it can't even run on my Core Duo 2 laptop with 2GB memory!... The system requirements of games being released today is laughable. Who's gonna ditch a good Core Duo 2 system to buy something just to play games?

Dude its a laptop...if you want to game without paying 3k get a desktop. I don't know what your definition of an average game is(Cs 1.6? BTW it barley will run on my Laptop), but laptops(most of them) are not built for gaming.

If you want a fun game with not-so-bad graphics that will run at a constant 65+FPS and will suck you in get Warcraft III

hehe

No I want a company that will get off its lazy ass and stop releasing buggy games with ZERO gameplay value and "ohh graphics" that doesn't treat me like a pirate with their crappy DRM system that ruins my gaming experience.

Every game EA releases anymore is 5 quests rotated OVER and OVER and OVER for the entire game. 2 titles that could have been FREAKING FANTASTIC they ruined.

If you don't think so go play Fail Cry 2 or Assassin's Snooze.
Both games had AMAZING promise and they ruined um. Just get to 50% on either game THEN tell me how awesome EA's idea of "gaming" is.

If EA dies better gaming companies will grow and take its place and with luck wont be craptastic like EA is.

This is why I hate EA and the proof is in their games.

A TRUE gaming company is Valve they take their time they polish their releases and their games look fantastic both on low and high end rigs. I have yet to see more then 1-2 bugs PER Valve release. I wish Valve was EA size for they would bring the TRUE gaming standard. Their DRM also doesn't effect me NOR does it treat me like a pirate.

Just glad they didn't sell out to EA....least EA can't screw up shipping the game out (though give it time they will)

Ahhhh sweet music to my ears. Just a shame people are losing their jobs over EA abusing their customers for years.

if they are really that crap, why dont you go make a better game and show them how its done propperly then?
I wished Valve would actually make a new game again... rather than keep comming up with whats basically reskins of halflife 2 really. I agree, portal for example was brilliant, but halflife 2, episode1 and 2, DoD, Team Fortress, Left 4 dead. all based on the source engine, and all play really, really simmilair.
Dont get me wrong, I love halflife 2. but you cant go around saying its bad EA does something, and praise Valve for doing basically exacly the same thing.

(I have to agree on buggy releases tough, I really hate those. if I buy a game, I want it to work propperly. however, Valve isnt perfect either. I dont like the whole unlocking thing when I installed a game. I want to play it! :)

I do think thats a rather good idea.. I mean, a gaming laptop drains its batteries in like 20 minutes or so with a high end card. with this, you can have a rather simple grafic's card on board, and when you're at home, you plug this in, and you can play games.
In theory its quite nice.. but I really have my doubts about practical application.
I mean, if you have a laptop, you want to be able to play a game when you're not at home too. (the whole point of having a laptop,.. beeing mobile. :) )

True..but least HL series has a storyline and wider range of maps each time. COD has slowly become the same thing but "better graphics" I mean they pull 1 out every year now.

If only I had the cash I would show you the magic of not having idiots in charge but sadly it wont happen because in this world only douche bags and morons make management.

My only point is sure EA brings out some sweet games but they always screw the pooch.

Mirrors Edge...4 hours long....wtf I am not paying $50 for that crap.
Assassin's Creed....breath taking and unique....4 quests redone the entire game till you wanna assassinate yourself.
Far Cry 2...not about the actual game...I can live with that....breath taking...no mini map...malaria...horrible AI....no free world exploring (free world = Oblivion) and the same 3 quests are done through 90% of the game and spawn times that defy nature.

I guess my main issue is EA has forgotten what we want and think we are stupid cows that will pay for buggy/boring/graphic pretty games.
