I'm going to build a gaming computer, and wanted to know if I should get a 4800+ X2 or an FX-55...

In my opinion i think that you should go for the "4800+ X2" because it's Dual Core it will handle large "chunks" of data better especially for the games that need your computer requirements to be up to scratch.

Yeah

Get the X2 4800+. You would get more out of it in general. However, you should consider the FX-57 as a worthy opponent.
