Game Crashes on Minimal Power Scheme....

I don't know where to put this but I think this is the closest relevant section..... For some reason, when I play Black & White 2 on the minimal power scheme, it freezes my whole computer until I reboot. But, when I play it on home/office power scheme, it runs just fine. Anyway to remedy this so I can play it just on minimal power scheme?

(Note: On the Home/Office power scheme, my CPU runs at a constant 2.4 Ghz, While the CPU under minimal power is more dynamic.... don't know if it has anything to do with it though.....)

(Note: This game also runs with a CD..... if that matters.....)
 
I would suspect driver issues over power issues on that one...

also.. by seeing this in your sig "Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro 512MB AGP OC'D @ 601/456?(Testing) w/ Zalman VF700-Cu LED" maybe its running unstable
 
It's not the drivers, I don't think, because I have both, rolled back the drivers and loaded the newest ones (Btw, ATi, yet again, has a new set of drivers....). I don't think it's my video card, or the fact that it's OC because it works perfectly fine in other games. I've seriously gone through the whole troubleshoot, ex. I have loaded the latest firmware for my optical drivers, tried various drivers (including Omega), tried various graphic settings, loaded the latest ATi Tray Tools, reloaded the game and various other differnt solutions but nothin works...........

On minimal power scheme, the CPU speed becomes dynamic and rises and lowers depending on how much of a load is on the computer which otherwise would constantly stay at its standard it's speed on home/office. This significantly lowers my computer's idle temps...... Ex. My computers idles at 29C on minimal compared to 41C-ish on the standard home/office power scheme.......

It's more of a convience to not have to switch power schemes everytime I play the game which otherwise I shouldn't have to anyway.......

(I don't know if this would apply with Intel processors as AMD supposedly has the cool and quiet feature......)

Who cares about 'minimal power scheme'? I mean, If youre into overclocking you GPU and all, you dont need it.

Simple. Its not like youre gonna save $10 a month on power.
 
EA for the lose.
just leave it on home/office. why would you want it to run slower at any time while you're playing a game?

Bl00dfox, It has nothing to do with saving money (although that is a plus.....) but it does SIGNIFICANTLY lower my CPU temps.... Why would I purposely run my CPU hotter? And basically, like I said earlier, it's just a pain-in-the-ass to have to go and change the power scheme just to play the game, esp. when I shouldn't have to in the first place.....

fade2green514, it's not that I want it to run slower, but that it doesn't run more than it has to, esp. if you really don't notice difference in performance.....
