Game Crashes

I've had several game crashes while playing lately. Happened once while playing Operation Flashpoint; Dragon Rising and a couple of time during BF Bad Company 2.

The screen goes green/grey and if I Ctrl-Alt-delete I get a frozen screenshot of the game.

After the first time i de-overclocked my graphics card but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Since the problem started just right after overclocking i suspect that it's related, using a XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 875mhz.

How can I properly diagnose this and find a soloution?
 
You could stick the graphics card in another system, see how it runs. Or stick a different graphics card on your system, see if the problem is elsewheres.
 
What version of catalyst are you running?

Also, use catalyst install manager to uninstall the old version, reboot, then install the new ones, and then reboot again. It should solve the issues if you are running an old version.

Using driver sweeper or similar can royally **** up your system. trust me, it happened to me and i had to reformat and reinstall windows.... not fun.
 
CCC uninstall manager is well known not to properly remove old versions of their software. I have to use a driver sweeper to remove old versions.
