game install on a laptop

I bout a game... age of empires 3 form my laptop. I start to install it and everything goes fine. Until it asks for the second cd. i put the second cd in and press the ok button... nothing happens. the cd doesn't spin up or nothing. I thought it might have been my cd rom . so i made and external one and it does the same thing.
its an acer travelmate 7530 downgradeble verson so it had windows vista business edition and i down graded ti win xp
amd 2 gig
ati radeon

anyone have any ideas?
 
I haven't checked Google for any issue with the 2nd CD
But I wonder what happens when you copy both CDs to a folder on your Hard Drive, then leave the CD in the drive, and run Setup (from your computer)
 
so i tried to. make an iso. from what the software tells me it worked. but the same thing happens. . I bought diablo 2 also and it does the same thing. I also thought that an iso of the diablo cds would work but it didn't. so the only thing i can figure is that it is windows stopping the install. but i don't know where. I did turn the autoplay off, not sure abot the DMA i think i turned it off... but it never made a difference.
