Game starts in wrong aspect ratio (Radeon 5770)

Hello again. I have a pretty annoying problem when I play most games. Some games start with the wrong aspect ratio (black borders in games) as if it were stretched in. It only happens when I play games in 1280x720 or 1280x1024 resolutions. My desktop resolution is 1920x1080. The way I fix it right now is to
change from resolution 1280x720 in game to something higher, then back to 1280x720. Why is this happening?
 
Because your monitors native resolution is 1920x1080. It's designed to run everything at that resolution. LCD monitors are not great at running non-native resolutions.

What are your full system specs?
