Hey Guys,

for my personal best i'm making a computer game.

Now i was going to use game master, but a friend at school make a game using flash in IT, now i want to know how to.

Can you guys help me out, i think it might be easier than using game maker.

thanks,

Cohen

Awesome, what tutorial did you do??? or have you got any tutorial links that would be able to help me...

what flash did you use to make that???

I didn't really use tutorials since I actually took a class from school.

and the flash at school is old, I used Flash MX 2004.

Flash is basically a vectoring software. The scripting and the codings and coverting them to movie clips, pictures correctly are the hardest part.

This site does cover alot of what I have done though.

I dont know if you've decided which one to go with. But I suggest flash. Yes, game maker is easier to use. But in the future, you cant do much with it once you have mastered it except make some cheap 2d games. With flash, you can program web sites, software, games, and tons of other things :D.

yeah probably going to go with flash for the game asi have used it before for doing some falsh movies which was really good. I know you can use it for websites etc, but for now i'll stick with using dreamweaver and learn as i go.

Thanks for your help.

if anyone else has any more suggestions that would be appreciated.

Cheers,

i love and prefer gamemaker!!! i just. i don't know if its better. but i prefer the type of games it seems to make and the learning curve is just right, i never thought i couold make games I always thought it would be learning coding or some crappy kiddy thing where its done for you and you just put it together. I love figuring out how to do stuff or often, getting an idea for a game because you worked out what something does, or even forgot something (my game bounce where only 'up' and 'right' keys work and you can only go the other directions by bouncing off walls to the end. etc etc

Gamemaker is a great tool to understand how games work although it primarily goes into 2D tile based gaming (it does have 3D capabilities but they are limited) but as said it doesn't grow from there with what you can do with it.

Flash is very powerful and very versatile.
Personally I found blender complicated and difficult to use... but I won't knock it, it's a great free tool. Both flash and blender have tough learning curves.

The biggest advantage of flash is that when you make an app or a game in flash it can be played on almost anything that has a flash player or web browser (with a flash plugin).
