Gamers Keyboard

Hey guys. I am upgrading my keyboard to get one that allows lots of buttons to be pressed at the same time.

I was thinking about getting the Saitek Eclipse
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175103

Then I saw the Saitek Eclipse II
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175001

Then I saw the Saitek Gamer's Keybaord
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175101

Which one is the best? I'm looking for a keyboard that allows lots of buttons to be pressed at the same time. I was going to get the Steelpad Keyboard that allows 8 buttons to be pressed simoutaniously but it's too expensive.

Are all the Saitek keyboards the same?

NEED TO PRESS LOTS OF KEYS AT THE SAME TIME!

Thanks in advance.

Hey ckfordy. Thanks for the reply. I was planning on getting the G15 but the screen at the top annoys me and it's a little expensive.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Saitek keyboards?
(Eclipse, Eclipse II, Gamer's)

I really dont think there is any difference between them other then the eclipse II is newer then the rest.

And the G15's screen why does it annoy you? I have it and it is great for gaming and i can keep track of how much ram is being used and everything and it is worth the price. Other wise either one of those keyboards are just fine.

Lol. Well I guess I'm just not used to having a screen on my keyboard. Used regular everyday typing keyboards my whole life and switching to a gaming one with a screen and stuff, just kind of weird. Anyways, I have a $25 giftcard for best buy. But I checked their website and it only shows that they have an Eclipse. Not the Eclipse 2 or Gamer's Keyboard. Is a Saitek Eclipse fine for gaming?

Just want to be sure before buying it.

I would not reccomend the original Eclipse, as the paint on the keys wears off after a couple weeks hard use.

get this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823161013
i think it allows 7 keys to be pressed at the same time

I have that one! I think it's great, and have never had a single problem with it yet.

Alot of people complain that is doesn't recognise keysets when switching between them, but I have never had that. Plus, you can use this thing straight out of the box. You don't need to driver at all, however, there are extra features you can get if you install it.

The G15 is the best gaming keyboard (I think), and the screen can be shut so you dont see it.

The gamer edition has a programmable keypad, but is almost the same as the original Eclipse. The Eclipse II has a different design, but basically the same features.

Have you used the keyboard or just read the newegg reviews?
I've had the Eclipse for about a year now and I game a LOT and not even a chip of paint is off. I even occasionally wash the key tops and still no paint has rubbed off.

I chose the Eclipse over the G15 because I dont want to look down at my keyboard during an intense game especially since most info you need is on the screen so I found a screen useless. The only real diff I've seen between the Eclipse 1 and 2 is that the 2 is colored differently and you can change the color of the LCD, it also has more multimedia keys (place out of the way in the upper right, makes for a smaller footprint than most Multimedia KBs).

I have the gamer key board and no not all are the same at all. The gamers one comes with a command pad that plugs into the keyboard to make it so so can do, oh say asdfdkcjkjhvmw at the same time with just one button. And you can use a button to make it when you holding it down acts like as if you left clicked 5 times in one second (for those games that you can shoot as fast as you fingers-great way for an easy edge for online mini shooter games) and it has a backlight, just not letter light. and of coures uses USB.

Pluse I herd that the eclips keyboard over time (about 3-4weeks) the silver paint will rub off and when in the dark if you have a mostly wight screen there will be glaire on the board making it hard to see.

My friend had an early one, and all the paint on WASD was gone within a couple weeks, and he doesnt play a whole lot.

Hey guys. I've also heard that the Saitek Eclipse keys wear out easily, but I used my friend's today and he had it for over a month. None of the keys had worn out at all. I think I might just go with the Eclipse.

What do you guys think? Should I get a blue backlight Eclipse? or red backlight Eclipse?

I know right? Its like saying I can get a sport car that's cool but will ware out fast instead of getting a nice mid sized sedan that has 70,000 7 year warranty protection will a reputation of being reliable. You shouldn't just go out there and get something because its cool. OK so your friend has one that did great. So what? That doesn't mean yours is going to be the same. look at all the other people who say it doesn't work that well compared to the ones who say it works. big difference. I wanted to get this one

untill I did some research and found reviews and found out that it just a piece of crap.

I have a Saitek (and my brother has one too)
and the keys are fine after a year of use. you have to literally pund the keys to wear any of the paint. I do seriously heavy gaming on BF2 and various other FPS games. This keyboard has been through some serious punishment and looks brand new. Also the keyboard has 582 reviews on newegg and 480 are 5/5 and 69 are 4/5. A keyboard with a serious problem like this would NOT be that good. I totally recommend this keyboard.
