Games are freezing

Okay, so My gf's laptop (i know,its a laptop thing, but i trust the desktop users better than the laptop users) is a i3 (3rd Gen/ 3000 graphics) 8gb ram. It has never had any problems running small games, ie. League of Legends/ sims.
but recently it has been freezing for upwards of 20 seconds randomly. when its not frozen, it runs at a solid 60 fps. Any suggestions?

Have you updated the video driver? Does the whole computer freeze or just the game?

yeah, drivers are up to date. and the whole pc freezes up

So if this is a laptop then can only assume a heat issue. Install a temperature program and check temps. Otherwise, may be an hdd issue.
