Games For Windows Live

Does anyone know if there is a way to get around logging in to Games For Windows Live and still be able to play my saved games?
I was playing GTA 4 the other day and noticed that I had to log in or else I would have to start playing from scratch :mad:


Also, while on the subject of games for windows does anyone play Empire Total War online?

Im using it atm too to play single player,Works great.

Btw let me warn you now...dont re-install GTA IV too many times,Once you have re-installd a certian amount of times windows live locks your account up and wont let you log in to play online ever again without providing a new key...in otehr words you have to purchase a new copy of the game because the support for windows live is non existant!

lol, you do realise it is only you that has ever ever happened to, notice the shock that was fealt in the forum when that happened and you said about it, and remember that there are some pretty hardcore gamers in here :P

No, i do not play empire total war, but why can't you just log in then and start saving, is there a problem with the log in :confused: ?

Sometimes my internet goes down ramdomly (and it's happening a lot more this month but that's another story : P) and I can't log in :( So then I have to start playing from the beginning and it blows.
And I don't think Xliveless will work because my game is patched to 1.0.4
I tried it already and I failed miserably at trying to install it and whatnot lol

No im not....if you search the whole of the actual error that it gives me there are loads of people in the same situation :cool:

My game is patched to the latest! It does work or i wouldnt have recommended it! :D

Its pretty easy all you have to do is drag the files they give you into your GTA IV directry....they explain how to do it it taks like 10 seconds.

Thanks but that doesn't solve my problem on how to get my saves : P
Does games for windows live save them to a folder?

i think they do, but i don't know where.

My internet goes down fairly often too and if i want to go on fallout or GoW or whtaever when it is down, i can get onto my games. It signs me in, but in offline or something and works, so they are there somewhere. Whether on all games though, i dunno.
 
I hate Windows Live so much. I go to log in and then after a while I get kicked out of the server and it says Live Disconnected. Then I log in and same thing happens. It sucks too that in GTA 4 you cant easily drag the files over from one to the other. Meaning if you uninstalled GTA but you have the save files, its harder to install them onto the new account then it is for Vice City and SAn Andreas.
